How to Access Articles from Elsevier

Search for the article in the NDSU Libraries online catalog. Be sure to use the ‘Everything’ scope, and toggle the button to ‘Include articles available through interlibrary loan’. This will display results for articles we do not own/subscribe to.

When clicking on the article title, you should see a ‘Get It’ section with options for requesting the article.

Click the ‘Request express delivery’ option. If you don’t see this option, be sure to Sign in with your Bison Login credentials.

You should see your article request like the example below. Click Request PDF to order your article.

When the requested article is emailed to you, be sure to download and save a personal copy.

ACCESSING ARTICLES via GOOGLE SCHOLAR, PUBMED, AND OTHER DATABASES

Set your Google Scholar preferences so that custom NDSU Libraries links show up in your search results.

In other databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, Web of Science, etc., use the ‘Search@NDSU’ button. This will check our catalog to see if we already have access.

DIRECT ORDER FORM

If you are having trouble navigating between the Libraries catalog and/or publisher websites, please feel free to use this direct order form by entering an article DOI, PubMedID, or citation details:

Next, you'll be prompted to enter your NDSU email address, and submit your request. The PDF will either be emailed to you, or you will be able to open it directly in your web browser. Remember, once you open/download the PDF, save a copy for future use, as you will only be able to access it once.

If you have any questions, please contact your subject librarian, use the Libraries online Help/Chat service, or email ndsu.library@ndsu.edu.
